Kickoff Event: January 2025

Don’t get stuck indoors this winter! Get outside for some quality family time by adopting a tree for maple syrup season! This season-long program begins with the Adopt a Tree Kickoff Event where syrup families/groups come for one time block to learn the process and take part in choosing and tapping a tree for the season (takes approx. 30 minutes).

After the Kickoff Event, participants will then collect sap 1-3 times a week (depending on sap flow conditions) for the entire syrup season (typically 4-6 weeks) and take part in boil downs where REAL maple syrup is made right here at NCNC.

You’ll even get your very own bottle of NCNC-made maple syrup at our end of season celebration in March (date TBD).

Due to an upcoming town project, the Nature Center’s 2023 goal of planting 10 new Sugar Maple Trees has been delayed. As such, we continue to raise funds for additional trees, so that we can welcome more participating families, make more maple syrup, and enjoy more winter fun.
