The New Canaan Nature Center has been an integral part of this community for more than 50 years. Membership support allows us to remain open to all, as an admission-free facility seven days a week. It helps maintain our 40-acre property including two miles of walking trails, ponds, marshes, meadows, an apple orchard, herb garden, community garden, children’s play garden, and greenhouse. Membership also supports our teaching collection of 50 species of reptiles, mammals, and birds of prey. These species, unable to survive in the wild, are used for educational programming, community programs and can be observed year-round throughout the Nature Center. We depend on our active members to help make the Nature Center the vibrant place that it is within this community.
