Rates & Reservations
In order to hold a reservation, we require 100% payment within two weeks of the date you make the reservation. If this is not possible, please speak with our Registrar, Marianne Dec at (203) 966-9577 x20.
We accept cash, check or credit card as payment for programs. Call (203) 966-9577 x20 to reserve your program, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you are unable to contact us, please leave a voicemail with your name, number, and best time to contact you so we can get your group scheduled as soon as possible.

*Additional Charges
After hours: Programs that are booked for times outside of our traditional program hours (Monday – Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm) will have an additional charge of $50-100.
Birds of Prey: An additional $35 will be charged due to the unique nature of the following programs involving our birds of prey collection: Birds of Prey, Natural History of Owls, Owls on the Prowl.
Extra Scouts: Additional scouts that make the group size more than 18 but not more than 25 will be charged at a rate of $7.00 per scout.
Transportation: Offsite programs at destinations beyond a 10-mile radius of the New Canaan Nature Center will be charged an additional fee per mile, round trip plus educator travel time. The first 10 miles will be at no cost; each mile thereafter will be charged at the current IRS rate at the time of booking.

Cancellations and Refund Policy
*Please note that our cancellation and refund policy has been updated.
In the event of a cancellation, please notify the New Canaan Nature Center at least four weeks in advance of your scheduled visit. Cancellations made at least four weeks in advance will be charged a 25% administrative fee and the remaining 75% reservation fee will be refunded if payment was already received. Payment will be forfeited for all cancellations made two weeks or less in advance of your scheduled visit.
Payments are transferable if you reschedule a program within 60 days of the original program.
Inclement Weather
If you must cancel your visit because of the weather, please call as soon as possible – (203) 966-9577, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Please leave a phone number so we can follow up). If the forecast is calling for weather that you deem would be undesirable and a great impediment fro your group, you may reschedule your program within 24 hours of your originally scheduled time. Such weather related reschedules will be charged a 25% administrative fee as the choice was yours to cancel while the Nature Center continued programming as normal.
Refunds are issued only if the Nature Center or your school/group’s location is closed or has a delayed opening because of inclement weather.
