Farmer’s Market

Join us for the opening of the Winter Farmer's Market.

Tuesday, January 27, from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.
Come shop for local winter produce and sundries from Connecticut based vendors at the Nature Center. You will find produce, eggs, meats, local honey, breads, coffee & tea, soups and more… Stay for lunch and walk the trails.

We will continue to host the Farmer's Market on Tuesday's through March 31. Click here for a list of participating vendors.

Wildlife Watch

Seeing a Moose in the wild can be startling at first. A huge head, possibly with a giant pair of antlers attached, connected to tall skinny legs is not something that we are accustomed to witnessing in Connecticut. But wildlife biologists from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) think it might become a more normal sight in the future.

To be honest, there is not a good chance of seeing a Moose around New Canaan (although one was recently spotted in Cheshire, CT), but if you are further north and see one, give it some space & admire it from a distance.

Be sure to check out our new “Wildlife Watch” kiosk next to the Sugar Shack for more information about the Moose.
